Italian club Juventus is eying a January move for Arsenal speedster Theo Walcott. Walcott's contract expires at the end of next season and the Italian giants see him as an ideal signing, according to the Daily Mirror.

Reporting a story from Turin daily, Corriere Dello Sport, the Mirror claims Juventus has contacted Walcott's agent Colin Gordon. Gordon denies any conversations with the Italian club.

The Italians admire Walcott for his speed, technique, character and potential. They will look to strengthen their squad in January ahead of a potential return to European competitions next season.

The 22-year-old Walcott has become a regular for Arsenal and England since joining the club in a £12.5m ($19.7 million) move in 2006. He has 179 appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals.  He mans the right side of Arsenal's three-pronged attack, though he's publicly called for a central role in recent weeks.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could allow Walcott to leave the club for the right price. He is oft-injured and has failed to reach and maintain his best form during his time at the club. His place in the team has recently come under threat by the emergence of 18-year-old winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
