The fallout from this one has just begun. Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra are embroiled in an ugly dispute over racial abuse.

The English Premier League resumed action over the weekend with moneybags Manchester City assuming the summit. High-flyers Newcastle held Tottenham to a draw. Robin van Persie is slowly creeping up the standings after his 2-1 win over Sunderland. His Arsenal teammates played a role in it, albeit a tiny one.
