Brady and Belichick won their 116th game as a quarterback-coach tandem, tying Dan Marino and Don Shula for most since the AFL-NFL merger. Brady and Belichick reached the 116 wins in 35 fewer games, giving the Patriots pair the best winning percentage for a quarterback-coach combo, as well.
Right after the game, Belichick wasn't exactly in a sentimental mood, but he did express thanks that No. 12 is on his team.
"There's no quarterback I'd rather have," Belichick said. "I've said it before, there's no quarterback I'd rather have. I'm not going to get into the ranking and all that, but I'm glad he's our quarterback."
Brady also built upon his own NFL record with his 30th straight regular-season win at home. He hasn't lost a game at Gillette Stadium in the regular season since the Jets beat the Patriots in November 2006. That, you'll remember, was a muddy game and is remembered as the last time the Patriots played on natural grass at home. Brett Favre owns the second-longest streak in history with 25.
Also of note, the Patriots won their 18th straight home game against NFC opponents, a streak that dates back to 2002, the year Gillette Stadium opened.
