What Was Your Overriding Thought After Reading Jon Lester's Comments?Jon Lester was pretty adamant on Monday that he was not a follower. He did all he could to prove that by being the first member of the Red Sox rotation to address all of the rumors that have been swirling this offseason.

Lester launched something of a media blitz on Monday starting with his conversation with The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham on Monday morning.

Lester was trying to clear the air about all of the stories that have come out in the last few weeks, particularly a Globe article that said that Lester, John Lackey and Josh Beckett would drink beers, eat fried chicken and play video games in the clubhouse during games.

Lester admitted to the beer and chicken, but he downplayed the effects and severity of both. He also denied the part about video games. What he also did, though, was raise some eyebrows with his words about now ex-manager Terry Francona

“You kind of run your course,” Lester told Abraham. “People knew how Tito was and we pushed the envelope with it. We never had rules, we never that that iron-fist mentality. … I never saw guys purposely breaking rules or doing the wrong thing in front of him and rubbing it in his face, but this particular team probably needed more structure.”
