"Milan is the best solution at the moment, his first choice," Joorabchian reportedly told the
Gazzetta dello Sport. "Carlos wants to wear the Milan shirt."
Milan is one of the few clubs that could meet both Manchester City's price for Tevez and the player's salary demands. The Italian sports daily reports City is looking to recoup much of the £25 million ($33.8 million) it paid Manchester United for the Argentine international in 2009. The clubs could work out an arrangement that includes loan and transfer fees and wage contributions to facilitate the move.
The Italian club is short of attacking options at the moment and may see Tevez as an ideal fix to its problem. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the most dependable of the Milan forward corps. Robinho and Alex Pato are oft-injured. Antonio Cassano will likely miss the rest of the season while he recovers from heart surgery.
Tevez is currently AWOL in his homeland and refuses to return to Manchester City. This season has been a turbulent one for the 27-year-old. He is famously unsettled in the city he's called home for the past four years and submitted a number of transfer requests to force his way out of the club.
He has claimed he wants to play for a club in a city that his family would relocate to. His partner and daughters remain in Argentina because they were unable to adjust to life in Manchester.
Tevez was recently fined and suspended by the club for refusing manager Roberto Mancini's orders to warm up during a UEFA Champions League game in September. The two have been at odds since the Italian replaced Mark Hughes in Dec. 2009. Tevez has scored 52 goals in 91 appearances for City.
