Albert Pujols, Tony La Russa Could Be Key Ingredients in Chicago Cubs' Championship Formula

Expectations are now sky high in Chicago with Theo Epstein in charge as president of baseball operations. But Epstein has some work to do to ensure the Cubs can capture their first World Series title since 1908.

As Epstein tries to develop a formula to end the Cubs’ championship drought, he’ll have to figure out what needs to be included and what doesn’t. Perhaps Albert Pujols and Tony La Russa could be two ingredients that help ensure success.

Pujols, of course, is a free agent. In fact, he’s the biggest player to hit the open market since Alex Rodriguez, which should make for an interesting offseason. La Russa, on the other hand, insists he’s done managing, but given his reputation as a winner, you can’t help but wonder if Epstein might try to lure him to the North Side of Chicago.

Still, there’s the problem of the infamous billy goat. Will O’Toole thinks he knows what might work. Check out his World Series recipe in the cartoon above.

Since graduating from Seton Hall University, Will O’Toole has been doing cartoons for over 30 years for a number of papers (USA Today), magazines (College and Pro Football Weekly) and websites (CBSSportsline.com). He is believed to be the only national cartoonist to have voted for the Heisman Trophy and the Wooden and Naismith Awards.
