Ovechkin announced on Wednesday via his official Twitter account that he is dating Russian tennis star Maria Kirilenko.
He tweeted a picture of the couple together and added, “Me and my girlfriend Maria….she is my queen!!!!”
Rumors began to surface earlier this week about their relationship via the Montreal Gazette, but Ovechkin’s announcement seals the deal. The Gazette reported that Kirilenko has been spending her offseason in Arlington, Va., which is relatively close to Washington, D.C.
