Daniel Paille Reconfirms That Hockey Players Are Toughest Athletes

It takes a special sort of athlete to put his face in the way of a hockey puck traveling 100 mph, yet every night in the NHL, there are players willing to pay the price.

Daniel Paille is certainly one of those players, as he unfortunately took a puck to the face last week that resulted in a bloody mess on Boston ice.

Fortunately, Paille is on the road to recovery, but he provides just the latest example of why hockey players are the toughest people in sports and among the toughest people on the planet. Check out the cartoon above by Will O'Toole to see his take on the toughness of hockey players.

Since graduating from Seton Hall University, Will O'Toole has been doing cartoons for over 30 years for a number of papers (USA Today), magazines (College and Pro Football Weekly) and websites (CBSSportsline.com). He is believed to be the only national cartoonist to have voted for the Heisman Trophy and the Wooden and Naismith Awards.
