Miami Hurricanes safety Ray-Ray Armstrong was benched for Saturday's game against Florida State for having dinner with the owner of a public relations firm and school officials are investigating to see if he broke NCAA rules.
If he faces further discipline, he would have only himself to blame for disclosing the violation.
Last Sunday, Armstrong went to dinner with Arielle Washington, who owns Double Coverage PR, which represents clients such as Darius Butler of the Carolina Panthers.
Armstrong tweeted later that night: "Just left Prime 112 wit @arinicolelife never seen a chicken this big," according to The Miami Herald. The tweet was removed an hour later.
If Miami determines that Armstrong accepted any benefits from Washington, he could be declared ineligible.
