Arsenal teammates Jack Wilshire and Wojciech Szczesny recently faced off in a game of FIFA 12. What transpired was a typical clash between 19-and 21-year-old video game rivals.
Wilshire has been injured for the better part of the last four months, so his video game skills are obviously sharp. The 19-year-old midfielder beat Szcezny in regular play. Then crushed him in a penalty-kick only rematch.
He won because he talked less, maintained laser-like focus and capitalized on his opponent’s errors. This is straight out of The Art of Video Game War. Other lessons Szcezny should have followed include:
- Don’t challenge the guy on the cover of the game. He knows the cheat codes.
- When it’s not your day, just put the sticks down. Doubling down on a bet leads to ruin.
- When you’re down a goal, resort to prison rules. Knock the controller out of your opponent’s hand and score.
Hopefully Szczesny re-reads The Art of Video Game War when he challenges Emmanuel Fringpong, who was peeking through the window.
