NBC's Matt Lauer used to work in Boston. He also used to work for ESPN. With that in mind, he surely knows that the defending Stanley Cup champions are the Boston Bruins, correct?

Well, maybe not.

During the broadcast of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on Thursday morning, the well-known host of The Today Show referred to the B's as the "Boston Brewers."

Oof.

In Lauer's defense, maybe it was just a slip of the tongue. Maybe.
