Merrimack is on top of the college hockey world.

For the first time in program history, Merrimack has been named the No. 1 ranked team in men’s college hockey. The undefeated Warriors earned 27 first-place votes and 946 overall votes in the USCHO National Poll and 20 first-place votes and 492 total votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine.

“We’re happy to be recognized on a national level,” head coach Mark Dennehy told MerrimackAthletics.com. “It’s a tribute to the coaching staff, administration and players who have worked tirelessly to turn the program around in such a short period of time. But at the same time, it is important for us to recognize the difference between recognition and accomplishment.”

Merrimack (8-0-1, 6-0-1) hosts Alabama-Huntsville on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.
