The adjustment of moving to New England after growing up in Minnesota was a big enough challenge for Providence College forward Matt Bergland, but the move didn't seem to phase him.

As a freshman in 2008-09, Bergland led the Friars in points (27), assists (17) and tied for the team lead in goals, quickly establishing himself as an elite player for PC. When Providence head coach Tim Army stepped down in March and was replaced by Nate Leaman, Bergland was forced to make another adjustment of playing for a new coach in his senior season. The transition has been smooth, as Bergland has a goal and assist in six games for the upstart squad.
