The Florida (soon to be Miami) Marlins already have big changes in store for the 2012 season. The team will finally move out of Sun Life Stadium, will be managed by Ozzie Guillen and have some interesting uniform combinations being considered.
Now, it appears the Marlins are targeting some of the biggest free agents on the market.
The Marlins have "reached out" to shortstop Jose Reyes, and are also targeting first basemen Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick.
If the Marlins are able to acquire Reyes, it would mean established shortstop Hanley Ramirez would likely change positions or be traded.
The Marlins reportedly contacted Reyes one minute into the free-agent signing period, and a group of Marlins executives went to New York this week seemingly to visit Reyes' agent, Peter Greenberg, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
Guillen wants the team to pursue either Pujols or Fielder, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman.
