The NFL is expected to fine New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan anywhere from $75,000 to $100,000 on Monday for cursing at a Jets fan, Adam Schefter reported on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown.

While the Jets were heading to the locker room at halftime of their Nov. 13 game against the Patriots, a fan told Ryan, "[Bill] Belichick's better than you." Ryan told the fan to shut up, using an expletive.

Ryan later apologized for the incident.

"I made a mistake. … Sometimes, my emotions get the best of me," Ryan said.
