The Red Sox are expected on Wednesday to interview Sandy Alomar Jr., a man whose baseball background many fans of the game will recognize easily.
Alomar's brother, Roberto Alomar, was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame. The boys' father, Sandy Alomar Sr., played big-league ball for fifteen seasons himself and also coached in the major leagues following his retirement.
Alomar Jr.'s strong baseball background explains a lot about his quick rise up the coaching ladder. He has interviewed for past openings at manager with the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays, but did not land either job.
He was promoted to be the Indians' bench coach this offseason after working as their first base coach for the last two years, but could earn a bigger promotion with the Red Sox. Here's a little bit more about a man who might become the team's next manager.
