Tom Brady Downplays Any Concerns Over Elbow, Says He Feels ‘Great’

Reports or suspicions that Tom Brady's elbow is affecting him are simply not true — at least according to Brady.

The Patriots quarterback said Wednesday that despite a report in The Boston Globe that indicated Brady was battling a bone bruise in his right throwing elbow, his arm is fine.

"I feel great," Brady said, according to the Boston Herald. "I feel great. I'm excited about this week. I'll be out there on Sunday as I am always, unless they tell me I can't be. I'll be out there. I feel great and I'm ready to go try and play my best football."

The Belichickian response could have been predicted, but Brady's passing numbers do a tell a story that suggests something may be wrong. The quarterback has already thrown 10 interceptions, a number that is a bit high when considering the high standard of expectations his play has set in the past. Brady has "only" completed 60 percent of his passes in his last three games with his completion percentage dipping below 60 in two of those games.

Brady's passing mentor, Tom Martinez, told the Herald that some sort of pain may be affecting the quarterback.

"[The pain seems to be] affecting some his throws," Martinez told the Herald earlier this week. "But it seems to me, the longer he gets into the game, the more it looks like it's not a factor."

That theory may explain why Brady has had some slow starts as of late, like he did Monday night against the Chiefs.

Speculation aside, Brady has yet to appear on the Patriots' injury report this season.
