Bobby Valentine Admits His Commitment Lacked at End of Mets Tenure, Ready for New Start in Boston

Bobby Valentinehad some success in New York with the Mets, but by the end of his tenure, things had taken a turn for the worst. Because of that, the end of his time in New York hasdrawn some comparisons to the way things ended for the Red Sox andTerry Francona in 2011.

Now, as Valentine takes over for the departed Francona as Sox skipper, Valentine insists that he's ready to work hard once again while also admitting that his level of commitment slipped some toward the end in New York. He's a tireless worker by all accounts, and Valentine says that he'll continue to work hard while he's at the helm in Boston.
