Brandon Spikes Misses Walkthrough, Listed As Questionable for Dolphins Game

Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes did not participate in Friday's walkthrough, which makes it highly likely he won't play Saturday against the Dolphins.

Spikes was one of 14 players listed as questionable. However, the final walkthrough of the week (typically held on Saturdays) mostly serves as a review of the game plan. Since Spikes couldn't participate, it seems like a near certainty that he'll miss his seventh consecutive game with a knee injury.

Tackle Sebastian Vollmer (foot, back) was also absent and did not participate all week. He was listed as doubtful and will likely miss his fourth straight game.

The Patriots also made three roster moves in time for Friday's deadline, promoting defensive back Sterling Moore and defensive end Alex Silvestro from the practice squad to the active roster. They also released safety Vince Fuller, who signed with the team Wednesday and was added to the injury report Thursday with a forearm ailment. It's possible Fuller wouldn't have been healthy enough to play Saturday, which yielded the Moore promotion.

Silvestro is an undrafted rookie who went to camp with the Patriots before getting added to the practice squad Sept. 28. He beat out fellow practice squad defensive end Markell Carter for the 53rd roster spot this week.

Along with Spikes, the other questionable Patriots were cornerback Kyle Arrington (foot), wide receiver Deion Branch (groin), safety Patrick Chung (foot), center Dan Connolly (groin), wide receiver Julian Edelman (back), linebacker Dane Fletcher (thumb), running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis (illness), safety James Ihedigbo (shoulder), cornerback Devin McCourty (shoulder), wide receiver Matthew Slater (shoulder), running back Shane Vereen (hamstring), right guard Brian Waters (ankle) and wide receiver Wes Welker (knee).

Running back Danny Woodhead (abdomen) and offensive lineman Ryan Wendell (calf) were taken off the injury report Thursday, so they're good to go.
