Bruins Live Blog: Jets Hold On for 2-1 Win As B's 15-Game Point Streak Is Snapped in WinnipegFinal, Jets 2-1: The Bruins' point streak comes to an end after 15 games, as the Jets hold on for the 2-1 victory despite a ton of pressure from Boston in the final period.

That keeps the Bruins from moving into the top spot in the East.

The Bruins will try to begin a new streak back in Boston when they host the Southeast Division-leading Florida Panthers Thursday at the Garden.

Third Period, 18:40, Jets 2-1: Rask is out of the net for the extra attacker after another Winnipeg icing.

Third Period, 18:20, Jets 2-1: Nathan Horton with a pair of chances in front, but Pavelec comes up with two more huge stops.

Third Period, 16:22, Jets 2-1: Milan Lucic with a chance to tie it from the top of the crease, but can't corral Nathan Horton's pass to put the puck into the open net.

Third Period, 13:44, Jets 2-1: Strong shift from the Bergeron line, creating several chances before the Jets are forced to ice it again to relieve the pressure.

Third Period, 11:41, Jets 2-1: The Jets use their timeout as the Bruins pressure after Pouliot gets out of the box, forcing Winnipeg to ice the puck.

Third Period, 11:17, Jets 2-1: The Bruins kill off the penalty with Rask making some big stops, but time is running low for the Bruins to try to tie this one.

Third Period, 9:17, Jets 2-1: Another costly offensive-zone penalty for Benoit Pouliot, who negates a good rush by taking a tripping penalty to give the Jets a power play.

Third Period, 6:48, Jets 2-1: Tuukka Rask robs Evander Kane from the right slot as the netminder goes post to post to deny the second-chance bid after the initial shot from the left side. That could be a game saver if the Bruins are able to mount a comeback.

Third Period, 4:50, Jets 2-1: The Jets score quickly on the 4 on 4, with Bryan Little winning the faceoff, then going coast to coast and scoring from the left circle.

Third Period, 4:44, 1-1: Things get a little nasty as David Krejci hits former teammate Mark Stuart into the boards behind the Winnipeg net. Stuart turned toward the boards late and went down hurt. Krejci and Bogosion get matching minors from the ensuing scrum.

Third Period, 3:16, 1-1: The Bruins tie it up as the fourth line comes through with a huge goal.

Gregory Campbell steals the puck in the high slot and gets it down to Daniel Paille in the right corner, and Paille shot in front is tipped in by Shawn Thornton.

Third Period, 2:59, Jets 1-0: Near disaster for the Bruins as Zdeno Chara gives away the puck in front of his own net, but Carl Klingberg can't convert on the chance in front.

Third Period, 0:16, Jets 1-0: The Bruins kill off the rest of the penalty, and in an even better sign, Johnny Boychuk is back on the ice after taking a shot off the leg in the second.

Third Period, 0:00, Jets 1-0: The final frame is under way in Winnipeg, with the Bruins having 16 seconds left to kill off on David Krejci's penalty as they try to rally for another win.

Second Intermission Notes: The Bruins created more chances in the second, but Ondrej Pavelec was up to the challenge and maintained Winnipeg's 1-0 lead despite a 17-10 edge in shots for Boston (27-20 overall).

The Bruins haven't been their usual physical selves in this one. They've been outhit 17-3 so far, including 13-1 in the second period. Rich Peverley had the only Boston hit in the frame. Mark Stuart and Tanner Glass each have three hits on their own for Winnipeg. The Bruins have more giveaways than hits, with five to just one for the Jets.

Jordan Caron stuck on one shot but now has two blocked shots in 8:38 of ice time through two periods in place of Tyler Seguin.

Bruins doing better on the draws, with a slight 18-16 (53 percent) edge thanks largely to Patrice Bergeron (8-2).

End Second Period, Jets 1-0: The middle frame is in the books and the Jets remain up 1-0. The Bruins will have 16 more seconds of Krejci's penalty to kill off before they can try to rally in the third.

Second Period, 18:16, Jets 1-0: The Bruins will go right back on the penalty kill as David Krejci is called for slashing.

Second Period, 17:45, Jets 1-0: The Bruins kill off that penalty, but it may have come at a cost as Johnny Boychuk went down in pain after blocking a Zach Bogosian shot. Boychuk was in pain, but stayed on bench.

Second Period, 15:45, Jets 1-0: The Bruins again with good possession time and movement on the power play but nothing to show for it, then take a penalty of their own just four seconds after Stapleton gets out of the box.

Patrice Bergeron is called for hooking to give Winnipeg its first power-play chance of the night.

Second Period, 13:41, Jets 1-0: The Bruins get another power-play chance, this time with Benoit Pouliot drawing a hooking call on Tim Stapleton.

Second Period, 12:34, Jets 1-0: Up and down action as both teams have had chances. the Bruins have had the better bids, especially on strong shifts from the fourth line and the Krejci line, but Winnipeg remains up by a goal as Ondrej Pavelec has made some big saves.

Second Period, 8:23, Jets 1-0: The Jets weathered the Bruins' storm, which included a golden chance by David Krejci on a rebound in front, and are now pressuring the Bruins. Boston is forced to ice the puck, then uses its timeout to rest its weary troops.

Second Period, 5:17, Jets 1-0: The Bruins with a much better effort on that power play, with six shots on goal. They couldn't score, but they may have reclaimed some momentum.

Second Period, 3:17, Jets 1-0: The Bruins will get a power-play chance to try to pull even as Dennis Seidenberg draws his second penalty of the night, this time a holding call on Carl Klingberg.

Second Period, 0:00, Jets 1-0: The middle frame is under way in Winnipeg, with the Bruins looking to answer the Jets' late first-period goal and pull even in this one.

First Intermission Notes: The Jets scored the only goal of the opening period when Andrew Ladd scored one that Tuukka Rask would definitely like back. But the big news came before the opening faceoff when the Bruins scratched leading scorer Tyler Seguin after the young forward slept through the team breakfast and a team meeting Tuesday morning.

Jordan Caron returned to the lineup in Seguin's place and has split time with Rich Peverley in Seguin's spot alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Peverley started the game on that line and had another early shift there, but as the period went on Caron got the bulk of the work on that unit. He has a shot and a blocked shot in five shifts lasting 3:06.

The Bruins were outshot 11-10 and outhot 4-2 in the first. Johnny Boychuk put a huge hip check on Evander Kane 1:17 in, but the Bruins landed just one more hit the rest of the period. Boston needs to get back to its physical game if it wants to pull this one out. The Bruins are also 7-9 (44 percent) on draws, with David Krejci just 1-5 so far.

End First Period, Jets 1-0: The Jets threaten again with a 2 on 1 in the closing seconds, but the Bruins get into the break down just a goal.

First Period, 18:22, Jets 1-0: The Jets draw first blood as Andrew Ladd scores late in the opening period.

Ladd came down the left wing and put a shot up high inside the near post as Rask went down.

First Period, 16:24, 0-0: Things pick up a bit as Lucic sets up Krejci for a chance with a pass out from behind the net, but Krejci tries one too many passes in an effort to get it over to Horton.

First Period, 15:47, 0-0: The Bruins have created some chances, but it remains scoreless in a relatively quiet first period.

First Period, 9:39, 0-0: The Bruins with a chance in front, but Benoit Pouliot can't get the puck up off a rebound after Boychuk fired the puck in from the right point.

First Period, 5:40, 0-0: The Bruins can't get much going on that chance as Slater returns to the ice and the teams are back at even strength.

First Period, 3:40, 0-0: The Bruins get the first power-play chance of the night as Jim Slater is sent to the box for slashing Dennis Seidenberg.

First Period, 1:17, 0-0: A physical tone is set early as Johnny Boychuk delivers a huge hip check on Evander Kane.

First Period, 0:00, 0-0: This one is under way, with Rich Peverley skating in Seguin's spot with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand to start the game.

8:30 p.m.: In a surprise move, Tyler Seguin is a scratch for this one. Jordan Caron is back in the lineup. Steven Kampfer remains out on defense. Seguin's scratch is for disciplinary reasons after missing team breakfast.

Nik Antropov and Eric Fehr will each miss their third straight games for Winnipeg.

8:15 p.m.: This will be a milestone game for several Bruins.

Rich Peverley will be playing his 300th career game in the NHL and Tyler Seguin is playing his 100th. It will also be Shawn Thornton's 1,000th professional game split between the AHL and NHL.

Oh, and it's also the Bruins' first game in Winnipeg since Dec. 31, 1995 if you haven't heard that yet.

8 p.m.: No surprises in net, as Tuukka Rask and Ondrej Pavelec led the teams onto the ice for warm-ups. That will be the goalie matchup for this one as expected.

7:30 p.m.: At long last, the Bruins are back in Winnipeg, where they'll look to avoid a letdown against the Jets less than 24 hours after a huge win over the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Monday.

That victory pulled the Bruins within a point of Pittsburgh for the top spot in the East, and a win over Winnipeg would push Boston into first place. That should be enough incentive to get the Bruins up for this one, as they look to extend their point streak to 16 games.

The Bruins didn't hold a morning skate after playing and traveling Monday night, but it's likely Tuukka Rask will get the start to give Tim Thomas a break after he made a season-high 45 saves Monday night.

8 a.m. ET: The Bruins will visit Winnipeg for the first time in nearly 16 years on Tuesday.

The last time Boston stopped in Manitoba, they celebrated New Year's Eve with a 5-3 win over the original version of the Jets on Dec. 31, 1995. The next season the Jets flew to Phoenix and rose again as the Coyotes.

This summer, it was Atlanta that relocated, taking up a new home and an old name as they became the Winnipeg Jets version 2.0.

The Bruins and Jets have clashed once already this year, with Boston taking a 4-2 decision at the Garden on Nov. 26. The Bruins got off to a slow start that night, falling behind 2-0 in the first before scoring four unanswered, including two in the second period by Chris Kelly, to come away with the win.

That game followed an emotional shootout loss to Detroit the previous day. The Bruins are playing Winnipeg in the back end of back-to-back games again, and will have to avoid coming out sluggish this time after a huge 3-1 win over Eastern Conference-leading Pittsburgh on Monday.

The Bruins are riding a 14-0-1 streak and can move past the Penguins into first in the East with a win. Winnipeg has won its last two and is 6-2-1 in its last nine, sparked by Evander Kane's six goals in the last five games. Kane has 14-7-21 totals overall and has also score four goals in five career games against Boston.

The puck drops at 8:30 p.m., so check back here for updates on all the action.
