The Celtics have been busy bolstering their bench in recent days, and one of their moves involves a familiar face.
The C's announced that they have signed guard/forward Sasha Pavlovic, who played 17 games with Boston last season.
The 6-foot-7 Pavlovic joined the Celtics last season as a free agent, and went on to average 1.8 points per game in 8.8 minutes per game. He also played with Dallas and New Orleans last season, totaling 31 games and seven starts with his three teams.
The 28-year-old spent his first season in Utah after being drafted 19th overall in 2003. He then went on to play five seasons with the Cavalaiers before being traded to Phoenix as part of the deal that brought Shaquille O'Neal to Cleveland in 2009. He was subsequently released, though, and signed by the Timberwolves.
Pavlovic scored a season-high 19 points on the final day of the regular season against the Knicks last season. He's now ready to elevate his game as he continues to get more familiar with his Celtics teammates.
"I was hoping for this call," he said of signing with the C's, according to CSNNE.com. "So as soon as I got it, I was happy and couldn't wait to get here."
