Gaston Ramirez's Agent Claims No Liverpool Contact About FC Bologna StarGaston Ramirez looks unlikely to leave Italian club Bologna for Liverpool in January. His agent revealed the Reds have not contacted him or the club about signing the standout attacker, according to the International Business Times U.K.

“This is the first I have heard about it,” Diego Triguero Heredia said of Liverpool’s interest. “I have had no contact in regards to interest in Ramirez. No people have asked me about him yet.”

Ramirez has been one of Bologna’s top performers since moving to Italian soccer from Uruguayan club Penarol nearly three years ago. He signed a new contract (running until 2015) in early November that reportedly contains a release clause of around £12 million ($19.3 million). The 21-year-old will be allowed to negotiate with any club that meets that fee.

The Uruguayan plays a key role in the Bologna offense, lining up on the left and center of a three-pronged forward line. He’s registered three goals and four assists in 11 appearances in this season’s Serie A.

Ramirez has also been linked with moves to AS Roma and Manchester City in recent months.
