It's long been suspected, but now it's official: Madonna will perform during halftime of the upcoming Super Bowl.

NBC's Bob Costas made the announcement during Sunday's game between the Saints and the Lions.

Madonna, a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, will collaborate with a team from Cirque du Soleil, choreographer Jamie King and artists from Moment Factory for the big performance. She joins Prince, U2, the Rolling Stones and a number of other notable artists to have performed on the game's big stage.

Super Bowl XLVI will take place on Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
