When the cashier made it clear to the 23-year-old millionaire that he would not receive any preferential treatment, the Danish international replied, “Don’t you know who I am? I can buy the whole pizzeria.”
A customer told Danish newspaper Ekstrabladet, “He was f***ing arrogant acted as if he owned the place. All the people just stood and looked at each other and shook their heads over the way he behaved.”
In the end, two female patrons paid for the pizzas.
Bendtner was in his homeland while nursing a groin injury. He earns £50,000 each week ($4 million per year) under his contract with Arsenal FC. He is also dated a member of Denmark’s royal family, Caroline Luel-Brockdorff, for nearly 18 months before splitting up earlier this year.
Frustrated with a lack of playing time with the Gunners, he is spending this season on loan at Sunderland.
