Pedro Martinez Discusses Red Sox’ Collapse, Importance of Bringing Back David Ortiz

Pedro Martinez spent some time giving back to the community and signing autographs at HomeGoods in Bedford on Saturday. When he was done, he took some time to talk with NESN's Randy Scott, and it's clear he still has baseball on his mind.

While the former Red Sox ace said he intends to formally announce his retirement, he did admit to paying attention last season during Boston's historic September collapse. Martinez said he was disappointed when the Sox failed to make the postseason, and that he thinks they may not have been 100 percent focused.

Martinez also took some time to discuss the importance of having David Ortiz back in Boston's lineup next season and how he thinks things will change with Bobby Valentine as the team's new skipper.
