Friday was a big day for sneaker collectors across the country with the release of the Air Jordan Concords across the country. Some handled the big day better than others.
The sneakers, modeled after the Air Jordan 11 sneakers worn by Michael Jordan during his playing days, led to some crazy scenes across the country, as shoppers were trampled in rushes, police were forced to use pepper spray and in California, shots were reportedly fired.
MSNBC.com reports that at a Seattle mall, some 20 shoppers were pepper sprayed for fighting with other shoppers, and one person was arrested.
In other locations across the country, mobs of shoppers who had waited overnight, burst through stoor entrances causing property damage in stores.
While the shoes retail for around $200, they are being sold on eBay for more than $600 in some instances.
