Report: Brett Favre 'Would Listen' to Bears If Team Wants HimBecause there have not been viable Brett Favre rumors circulating in at least seven days, the 42-year-old gunslinger is back in the news.

This time, Favre "would listen" to the Bears if they came calling for his services, according to ESPN.com.

Well, yeah, and I would listen if Bill Gates called me and asked me to accept a few million dollars, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

The report says that the Bears haven't reached out to Favre, despite the thumb injury to Jay Cutler that could leave the quarterback out for the remainder of the regular season. Caleb Hanie threw three interceptions Sunday and finished with an unfathomable quarterback rating of 23.8. The Bears sit at 7-5 after losing to the Chiefs, tied with Detroit for second place in the NFC North.

Oh, and there's this — even if the Bears do or did reach out to Favre, the report says he "would listen, but his answer could be that he'll stay retired."

So, to recap, Brett Favre wants to be in the news, and he's succeeded, though there's no real reason. Got that?
