Just two days after it looked like Hornets foward David West would become a Celtic, a report says the deal is off.

On Friday, it was reported that the Celtics would send forward Jermaine O’Neal to the Hornets for West and sign him to a three-year deal. But on Sunday, the deal is now “dead” and the Indiana Pacers are now the front-runners to sign West, according to TNT’s David Aldridge.

“Source: Sign/trade between Boston, NO for David West is dead, confirms http://ESPN.com report that Pacers closing in on signing West,” Aldridge tweeted Sunday afternoon.

Just 20 minutes later Aldridge tweeted that West and the Pacers had come to terms on a deal.

”Agent Lance Young confirms David West agrees with Indiana on two-year, $20 million deal: ‘David is ready to help them win a championship,'” the tweet read.
