Report: Former Bruins Coach Mike Milbury Accused of Assaulting Child at Youth Hockey Game

Former Bruins coach Mike Milbury has reportedly been charged with assault and battery of a child following an altercation with a 12-year-old last week.

According to WCVB, Milbury allegedly assaulted one of the children playing against the youth hockey team that he is an assistant coach of at the Jack Kirrane Ice Skating Rink at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline.

He will reportedly be charged with assault and battery on a child, threat to commit a crime and disorderly conduct.

The Boston Herald is reporting that, "after Milbury’s son … got into a [scrap] on the ice, Milbury charged out onto the rink and verbally berated and grabbed and shook the 12-year-old opposing player."

Milbury played for the Bruins for 12 seasons and also coached the B's to a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 1990.

NBC released the following statement: "We are aware of the story and are gathering the facts. We will not have any further statements until we know more information."
