One potential option to fill the void in right field for the Red Sox has been taken off the market.
ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick is reporting that Josh Willingham has signed a multi-year contract with the Minnesota Twins pending a physical.
Willingham, who some saw as a potential replacement for J.D. Drew in right field for the Red Sox, is coming off a season in which he hit .246 with career highs of 29 home runs and 98 RBIs in 2011.
The 32-year-old owns a lifetime .262 average to go along with an .836 OPS.
