ESPN has an opening for a Sunday Night Baseball analyst now that Bobby Valentine is the Red Sox' manager. Are there any managers out there who might be ready to fill that position? How about ex-Red Sox manager Terry Francona?
Francona is visiting ESPN on Friday to have "conversations" with the network about the possibility of him working as an analyst, according to Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch.
Francona filled in for Tim McCarver on FOX during the playoffs and earned rave reviews. Now that Valentine is in Boston, it could be a good fit for Tito to step in and fill the void. He's already stated that he plans to take the year off from managing, so some TV work would certainly keep him busy.
