Report: Tom Brady Has Sprained Left Shoulder, Still Expected to Start Against Bills

It appears that Tom Brady is indeed injured. However, don't expect that injury to keep him out of the lineup on Sunday and moving forward into the playoffs.

The NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that the quarterback is suffering from a left shoulder sprain. That, of course, is Brady's non-throwing shoulder.

It will all come down to what Brady can do in terms of managing the pain, but it's not expected to slow him down too much. The injury isn't expected to affect Brady's level of play.

Former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon, who played through a non-throwing shoulder injury during his playing days, spoke with Breer about how much of an impact a similar injury will have on Brady.

"If you're telling me it's a sprain, this kid is as tough as they come, and I'd think he'll be just fine," Gannon told Breer. "With a week of rehab [in the books], work on range of motion and treatment, I'd think he's already getting that range back, and that strength back. He may not even have to stick a needle in there Sunday. He may be just fine."

Brady missed practice on Wednesday, but his absence was not deemed injury related. He returned to practice on Thursday and Friday, and the All-Pro quarterback was listed as probable for this week's game with the Bills with a the left shoulder injury.
