Ryan Braun's Positive Drug Test Will Forever Taint 2011 MVP Season

Ryan Braun failing a drug test was, in itself, not jaw-dropping news. Major League Baseball has seen its share of drug controversies, from slugging greats like Barry Bonds to fireballers like Roger Clemens to supposedly consummate professionals like Rafael Palmeiro.

Braun’s situation is unique, however, because the Brewers right fielder just polished off an MVP season. Some fans have argued that there should be a re-vote for the award. Whether or not Braun has to give back the award, the 2011 MVP’s season will forever be tainted, as Will O’Toole depicts in the cartoon above.

Since graduating from Seton Hall University, Will O’Toole has been doing cartoons for over 30 years for a number of papers (USA Today), magazines (College and Pro Football Weekly) and websites (CBSSportsline.com). He is believed to be the only national cartoonist to have voted for the Heisman Trophy and the Wooden and Naismith Awards.
