Tyler Seguin missed a team breakfast and meetings on Tuesday morning in Winnipeg, and because of that, he was a healthy scratch for the Bruins' game with the Jets.

The B's announced prior to the start of the game that its leading scorer was out of the lineup in favor of Jordan Caron, and general manager Peter Chiarelli revealed that Seguin was out because he overslept.

"Tyler missed a team breakfast and team meeting this morning," the GM told reporters in Winnipeg. "He didn't wake up. Honest mistake, but we have team rules and we have to abide by them. He has to abide by them. That's the reason for his scratch."

Chiarelli also revealed that this isn't the first time Seguin has missed a meeting, but the GM made it clear that he's not concerned and doesn't think it's a problem.

"He's had a couple of incidents before over the course of his career," Chiarelli said. "I don't see it as a problem. I see it as a young player who sometimes forgets to set his alarm. So that's why he's a scratch."

Seguin wasn't thrilled about the decision, but he understood.

"Not good," Chiarelli said when asked about the second-year player's reaction to the disciplinary decision. "But he understands that are team rules and everyone plays by the team rules. We gave him a couple of passes. … He's a young kid who's learning to be a pro, and he's a heck of a player."
