All marriages have their ups and downs, but the 10-year union of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant was certainly unlike any other.

They got engaged in 2000, when she was 18 and still a senior in high school. He ascended to the top of the NBA and was a three-time champion before the news of his affair in a Colorado hotel room and the ensuing sexual assualt charges surfaced.

Vanessa stood by her husband — getting a $4 million ring for her loyalty — but that could only last so long, as she filed for divorce this week.
