Andrew Bailey, Michael Pineda Additions Prove Red Sox, Yankees Still Engaged in Arms Race

Pitchers and catchers have yet to report to spring training and the most bitter rivals in baseball are already competing for the 2012 pennant.

The Red Sox have added Andrew Bailey and Cody Ross, and are reportedly in discussions with free-agent pitcher Edwin Jackson. The Yankees stocked up on pitching by acquiring Michael Pineda and signing Hiroki Kuroda.

The American League East arms race is in full swing.
