Larkin will be the only inductee voted in this year after earning the necessary 75 percent of votes needed for admission to the Hall. He will join Ron Santo, who was elected by the Golden Era committee.
The former Cincinnati Reds shortstop received 495 votes in his third year on the ballot after falling 75 votes short last year. Larkin hit .295 with 198 home runs, 960 RBIs and 2,340 hits over his 19-year career.
Pitcher Jack Morris had the second-most votes with 382 (67 percent), missing by 48 votes on his 13th year on the ballot. Morris will have two more chances to be voted in after receiving 54 percent last year.
Jeff Bagwell was third with 56 percent, followed by Lee Smith (51 percent) and Tim Raines (49 percent), then Alan Trammell and Edgar Martinez with 37 percent each. Mark McGwire's vote total went down, as the admitted steroids user dropped from 19.8 percent to 19.5.
