Boston College’s Barry Almeida Continues to Succeed After Almost Losing Career to Eye Injury

Barry Almeida came close to losing his hockey career in 2006. Two years before becoming a part of the Boston College hockey team, Almeida suffered what could have been a devastating eye injury.

It threatened to put an end to a promising hockey career, and if Almeida wanted to return to the sport he loved, he was going to have to miss some time.

Luckily for him, however, he was able to endure the rehab process and has returned to the ice. While the injury still inhibits him at times, Almeida has put it all together this season, as he sits among the top goal scorers in the country. Not only that, the senior has developed into one of the top leaders on the team.
