Brian Waters Happily Reflects on Joining Patriots as 'One of the Best Decisions I've Made'FOXBORO, Mass. — The excitement on Brian Waters' face is as genuine as it gets.

The Patriots right guard finally, after 12 years of postseason futility, got his first playoff victory last week. Now, he's got two, and he'll head to his first Super Bowl.

Waters was reflecting on his decision to sign with the Patriots in Week 1 of the regular season. After parting ways with the Chiefs, Waters said he would have been perfectly happy if he never played again, but the opportunity in New England was too good to pass up.

That decision has paid off in a major way.

"It's been a great year," Waters said. "It's been a great year for me. I can't tell you how — coming here, making the decision to come here this year was really based on this particular time [of year]. Where is going to give me the best opportunity to play in this game? It was a choice that I made, and look where it's ended up for me. It's probably one of the best decisions I've made in a long time."
