The Bruins got production from throughout the lineup, once again displaying their depth. Eleven different Bruins picked up points, with members of all four lines getting on the scoresheet. Patrice Bergeron led the way with a pair of goals, but this was a team effort.
The Bruins will look for a similar effort Thursday when they return to Boston to open a four-game homestand against Calgary.
Third Period, 17:40, Bruins 6-1: Cam Janssen comes flying through with a big hit on Benoit Pouliot. Biggest key now for the Bruins is just to get out of this one without any injuries.
Third Period, 14:23, Bruins 6-1: Shawn Thornton gets in on the scoring parade with a goal from the high right slot.
Daniel Paille sent the puck out to Thornton from the right corner, and Thornton stopped it and quickly fired it home through a screen in front.
Third Period, 10:40, Bruins 5-1: Shawn Thornton catches a Devil coming across the blue line and lowers the boom with a big hit. Bruins dominating in all aspects of the game in this one.
Third Period, 7:30, Bruins 5-1: The Bruins aren't sitting back with this lead at all. They continue to carry the play and pressure Brodeur, with a Chara blast from the left point the latest bid the Devils netminder had to turn aside with plenty of traffic in front.
Third Period, 4:50, Bruins 5-1: The Bruins continue the pressure with David Krejci putting another puck behind Martin Brodeur.
Dennis Seidenberg took the shot from the left point, with Krejci tipping it in front. The Devils complained Krejci's stick was too high, but a video review confirms it was below the crossbar and the goal stands.
Third Period, 2:13, Bruins 4-1: Patrice Bergeron adds another goal as the Bruins push the lead to three.
Brad Marchand drove down the left wing around behind the net, coming out on the right side and finding Bergeron out front for the one-timer from the slot.
Third Period, 0:00, Bruins 3-1: The final frame is under way in New Jersey, where the Bruins will look to close out a victory with a two-goal lead on the Devils.
Second Intermission Notes: The Bruins put together another solid period on the road, extending their lead to 3-1 on a Patrice Bergeron breakaway goal.
That came just as after a Chris Kelly holding the stick penalty expired. If there's been one area of concern, it's the continued run of penalties the Bruins have taken in this one. After breakdowns in discipline cost them dearly in Dallas, the Bruins have taken three more minors and a misconduct complaining about one of those calls so far in this one, with New Jersey's lone goal coming on the first of those power plays.
The Bruins continue to dominate the draws, winning 24 of 31 faceoffs so far (77 percent). David Krejci is 12-3 and Kelly 5-0. When the Devils aren't giving up control on the draws, they're just giving away the puck. New Jersey has 14 giveaways already through two periods.
End Second Period, Bruins 3-1: With 40 minutes in the books, the Bruins remain in control up by two goals, though the Devils did threaten late with a strong push in the closing minutes.

Second Period, 8:17, Bruins 3-1: The Bruins kill off that penalty as well, with the Devils not even getting a shot on goal on that opportunity.
Second Period, 6:17, Bruins 3-1: The Bruins will have to kill off another penalty as Chris Kelly is called for holding the stick, then Benoit Pouliot compounds the mistake by getting a 10-minute misconduct for complaining about the call.

Bergeron drew a delayed call on Adam Larsson, but Boston didn't need the power play as Bergeron breaks in alone, dekes to the forehand and tucks the puck in at the right post.
Second Period, 1:56, Bruins 2-1: The Bruins threatened early to extend the lead, but now the Devils will get a chance as Nathan Horton goes off for holding to give New Jersey a power play.

First Intermission Notes: After a bit of a slow start, the Bruins came on strong late in the first and took a 2-1 lead in New Jersey.
Lots of good work from the fourth line, with Shawn Thornton setting the tone with an early marathon bout with Cam Janssen and Gregory Campbell scoring Boston's first goal. Daniel Paille also created some good chances.
After being dominated early in the shot count, the Bruins pulled within 16-11 by the end of the period. Speaking of domination, the Bruins won 16 of 18 draws (89 percent), led by David Krejci's perfect 8-0 performance on faceoffs. Krejci also set up Nathan Horton for the go-ahead goal on the power play. Milan Lucic got the secondary assist and leads the team with three hits as that top line has come to play in this one. The Bruins have an 11-6 edge in hits overall.
End First Period, Bruins 2-1: The opening 20 minutes come to a close with a scramble in front of the New Jersey net. The Bruins can't push another one of the line there, but do take a one-goal lead into the first intermission.
First Period, 19:38, Bruins 2-1: The Bruins get a little sloppy clearing their zone, leading to a chance for Parise at the right post, but Thomas makes the save to preserve the lead.
First Period, 17:41, Bruins 2-1: The Bruins nearly strike again as the fourth line creates another chance. This time it's Daniel Paille, who takes advantage of rookie defenseman Adam Larsson, using his speed to deke around him down the left wing and break in for a chance in front, but Brodeur makes the stop.
First Period, 13:17, Bruins 2-1: The Bruins convert the chance with Nathan Horton striking on the power play to give Boston its first lead of the night.
Milan Lucic got the puck to David Krejci in the right slot, and Krejci fed it over to Horton at the left post for his 10th goal of the year, five of which have come on the power play.
First Period, 12:36, 1-1: The Bruins get their first power-play chance as the Devils are now guilty of a delay of game with Henrik Tallinder called for clearing the puck over the glass.
First Period, 11:30, 1-1: The fourth line continues to lead the way for the Bruins. After Thornton's bout and Campbell's goal, that unit just had another strong shift that produced several scoring chances.
First Period, 8:15, 1-1: The Bruins answer right back with Gregory Campbell getting the goal in front.
Andrew Ference sent in the blast from the left point that hit off Campbell's skate and deflected in. It was reviewed, but the goal was upheld as there was no kicking motion by Campbell.
First Period, 4:24, Devils 1-0: The Devils strike late in the power play to grab the early lead on a David Clarkson goal.
Zach Parise made the play, poking he puck past Adam McQuaid at the point in the Devils end, driving down the left wing and sending a crossing pass over to Clarkson, who buried the wrister inside the near right post past Thomas.
First Period, 2:38, 0-0: The Bruins are now shorthanded as Johnny Boychuk is sent off for delay of game after clearing the puck over the glass, giving the Devils the first power-play chance of the night.
First Period, 2:07, 0-0: The gloves come off early as Shawn Thornton and Cam Janssen engage in a heavyweight bout.
They come together at center ice after lining up on opposite wings. A long square off was followed by a longer bout as both men went almost exclusively with rights and landed plenty of shots in an even scrap.
First Period, 0:00, 0-0: And they're under way in New Jersey, where the Bruins will look to begin a new win streak after stumbling in Dallas on Saturday.
7:30 p.m.: The Bruins will open this one with the third line of Benoit Pouliot, Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley, with Joe Corvo and Dennis Seidenberg starting of defense and Tim Thomas in goal.
The Devils counter with their top line of rookie Adam Henrique between Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk, with Kurtis Foster and Matt Taormina on the blue line and Martin Brodeur in net.
7:25 p.m.: The Bruins have officially scratched Zach Hamill and Steven Kampfer.
Travis Zajac (Achilles), Anton Volchenkov (lower body) are out for New Jersey, along with healthy scratch Steven Zalewski.
7 p.m.: As expected, it will be Tim Thomas and Martin Brodeur in goal for this one as the veterans each led their respective teams out onto the ice for warm-ups.
6:15 p.m.: The Bruins get back to work in a little over an hour down in New Jersey, where they'll wrap up a three-game road trip before returning to the Garden for a four-game homestand.
The Bruins want to come home with a better effort than their last game, when some undisciplined play contributed to a 4-2 loss in Dallas on New Year's Eve.
Based on the morning skates, it looks like it will be a matchup of veterans in net with Tim Thomas and Martin Brodeur expected to start. The Devils won't have center Travis Zajac or defenseman Anton Volchenkov though, as both are sidelined with injuries.
8 a.m. ET: The Bruins had their seven-game win streak snapped with a disappointing effort in Dallas on Saturday, but will get a chance to begin a new streak Wednesday in New Jersey.
Boston has already beaten the Devils once this year, with Benoit Pouliot scoring the game-winner with 3:01 left in regulation for a 4-3 victory at the Garden on Nov. 15. The Bruins sit second in the East at 24-10-1, but their 49 points are just five more than eighth-place New Jersey (21-15-2, 44 points).
The Devils are also coming off a frustrating loss, blowing a 2-0 lead and falling 3-2 in overtime in Ottawa on Monday. Despite that setback, New Jersey is 9-3-1 in its last 13 games and has won its last three at home. The Bruins are 11-4-0 on the road and will look to close out a three-game trip on a high note before returning to the Garden for a four-game homestand.
The Devils' most prominent veteran has struggled a bit this season, as goalie Martin Brodeur is just 11-9-1 with a 2.85 GAA and .893 save percentage. But they are getting help up front from a youngster with Adam Henrique now centering Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk on the top line. Henrique, the NHL's Rookie of the Month for December, is second among rookies in scoring this season with 10-18-28 totals in 35 games.
