The Red Sox traded Marco Scutaro to Colorado on Saturday night, and in the process freed up some money and a roster spot to add some needed outfield depth.
They seemed to do that on Monday night when they reportedly signed free agent Cody Ross to a new deal. The move isn't official, but it appears to be a formality.
Once Ross does become a member of the Red Sox, he'll join a growing platoon of outfielders. The veteran outfielder should give the Sox some balance in their lineup, as the right-handed hitter will surely be a welcomed addition.
Don Orsillo, Nick Cafardo and Peter Abraham discussed it on Red Sox Hot Stove Live. See what they had to say in the video above.
