There is not usually too much global noise made in the Bolivian First Division. Erlan Mealla managed to score a spectacular goal, though, that will likely be a big hit on YouTube.
In a Nacional Potosi match versus The Strongest, Nacional’s Mealla spread a pass out wide to a Nacional player at the 20-minute mark. The wideman then whipped in a cross that was behind Mealla, who was dashing into the box.
Instead of leaving the inaccurate cross to fall in front of a defender, Mealla made the most of his opportunity by using his back-heel to smash the ball into the bottom right corner. He scored the diving, back-heel effort from about 20 yards out, and his emphatic goal delighted the Bolivian crowd.
