Spearing appeared to pull his hamstring in the 23rd minute, with his team leading 1-0. He attempted a pass and quickly fell to the ground, clutching the back of his leg. Charlie Adam took his place in the midfield.
Manager Kenny Dalglish said the 23-year-old was suffering from a "tight" hamstring, suggesting the injury was not a pull or tear, which would keep him out for a lengthy period of time.
"It was his hamstring, but it wasn't too bad," Dalglish said. "It just went a bit tight on him. I don't think he has pulled anything, but we'll have to wait until the morning when he gets back [to Melwood]."
Spearing was just four games into his comeback, after serving a three-game ban in December. He was performing well in a deep-lying role, breaking up opponents' attacks and initiating LFC's forward moves.
He will have a scan on the area to determine the extent of the injury.
