Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson became an instant sensation after his front flip-turned-touchdown, and rightfully so, as it still remains SportsCenter’s Top Play after almost five weeks.

Unfortunately, Simpson’s media coverage is about to take a sudden turn for the worse.

On Thursday, Simpson was indicted on one count of trafficking marijuana in excess of eight ounces, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. These charges come four months after authorities found over seven pounds of marijuana in his Cincinnati home.

If found guilty, he faces anywhere from one to five years in prison. Regardless, he will likely face discipline from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell under the league’s personal conduct policy.

The Bengals finished 9-7 this year after a Wild-Card loss to the Houston Texans, their second best season in six years.
