Jerry Rice likes the 49ers' chances if it rains at Candlestick Park on Sunday. But not just because he spent 16 seasons in San Francisco.
Rice, now an analyst for ESPN, thinks that rain — which is in the forecast — would favor the Niners because it would turn the game into more of a running game, which he isn't too confident Giants running back Brandon Jacobs could handle.
Rice noted that he likes New York running back Ahmad Bradshaw, as well as Jacobs, but then went on to say that he thinks Jacobs is "a little bit soft."
" [Jacobs] can't get away from a defender," Rice said. "This guy is 265 and it upsets me when I see him get tackled by a guy that's like 190 or 200 pounds."
Those comments likely won't sit well with Jacobs, who ran for 92 yards in the Giants' wild card round victory over the Falcons. Jacobs is set to address the media on Thursday, and Rice is prepared for the backlash.
"I'm sure he is going to be looking for me," Rice said jokingly.
