Jim Boeheim Doesn't Know What Social Media Is, Claims Not to Own ComputerWhile some college coaches are choosing to ban social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook, Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim isn't concerned with that sort of thing. Mostly, because he doesn't know what they are.

"I don't even know what [social media] is," the Hall of Famer admitted in a video on CBSSports.com. "It would be hard to address that, wouldn't it? I have a cell phone, is that what you are talking about? I don't have a computer or anything else."

While it's hard to believe that a modern college coach wouldn't have a computer, Boeheim similarly should be somewhat familiar with the perils of Twitter. Syracuse guard Scoop Jardine shut down his Twitter account for a short period last year after referencing college basketball "groupies."

Boeheim may need to learn a little more. If North Carolina is any precedent, the NCAA now expects institutions to monitor their student-athletes over social media. Of course, that might not be something Boeheim is responsible for — he might relegate that responsibility to the compliance department.

Those guys must have computers, right?
