Mark Curtis Shoots Down Rumors of Andy Carroll Returning to Newcastle in January

Andy’s Caroll‘s agent has dismissed rumors linking the LFC forward with a return to Newcastle. The Liverpool Echo reports there has been no contact between the two clubs, and Carroll will not re-join the Magpies in the January transfer window.

“Andy is happy at Liverpool,” Mark Curtis said. “There is no truth in these rumours.”

Reports emerged earlier this week claiming Newcastle was preparing a £15 million ($23 million) bid for a player it sold to LFC last January for £35 million ($53.6 million).

Carroll’s LFC career has gotten off to a slow start, as he has battled injuries for much of his time at Anfield. He’s appeared in 31 games and scored six goals for the Reds.

Manager Kenny Dalglish fully supports the 23-year-old striker, backing him to rediscover the form that made him an England international. He also hit out at reporters for making up stories linking his players to other clubs.

“I am worried about the people that invent them,” Dalglish said. “You have absolutely no foundation whatsoever (for the stories).”
