Patriots to Give Hand Warmers to First 20,000 Fans at Gillette Stadium on Saturday Night

January 13, 2012

It looks like it will be another chilly playoff game for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Saturday night. Temperatures are expected to hover around freezing all day, before dropping into single digits come game time.

The Patrots have stocked up on hand warmers and they plan to hand them out to the first 20,000 fans to enter the stadium. These hand warmers are known as HotHands hand warmers and can create "up to 10 hours of heat."

"It is going to be very cold and we want to remind all our fans to dress appropriately for Saturday night's game," stated Stacey James, vice president of media relations for the New England Patriots. "Hopefully, these heat packets will help our fans to keep their hands warm while the Patriots have the ball so they can use them to make a lot of noise when the Broncos are on offense."

If Patriots fans are able to get loud, it could make life even more difficult for the Denver offense. The bitter conditions mean that Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow will have to play in the cold, which he has rarely done in his football career.
