The fourth accuser in the Bernie Fine molestation case, Floyd VanHooser, reportedly admitted to police that he lied to them about child molestation acquisations.
VanHooser sent two letters, one to Fine and "To whom it may concern," The Post-Standard reports. In the letters, he apologized to Fine and said he lied about Fine sexually abusing him as a child. VanHooser admitted his wrongdoings to the police on Friday, according to the report.
"In a statement I gave I told a lot of lies about Bernie Fine. None of what I said was true," VanHooser wrote. "Bernie has been nothing but good to me over the years. He was the only thing I had close to a father. He never did any thing wrong he is a good man."
Fine, a former assistant basketball coach at Syracuse University, has been accused by three other men of sexual molestation.
VanHooser, an inmate at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, N.Y., told reporters and police that he lied to get back at Fine for not hiring a lawyer to fight VanHooser's most recent crimes. VanHooser was sentenced to 16 years in jail for repeat offenses for stealing from homes to support his drug addictions.
