Patriots Grow More Excited to Play in Super Bowl As They Get First Glance of Lucas Oil Stadium for Media DayINDIANAPOLIS — The feeling has sunk in a few times over the last week and a half, but never like it did Tuesday.

The Patriots got their first chance to walk on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium and check out the scenery since it's been redecorated for the Super Bowl. And that's when it really hit them — they were five days away from playing on the world's biggest stage.

"It's definitely set in," wide receiver Wes Welker said.

The realization they're preparing for the Super Bowl takes on a handful of forms, from the AFC Championship celebration, to the ticket requests, to that first practice and then the flight to the host city.

But it was a different feeling Tuesday as the players put on their jerseys with the Super Bowl patch, took the field as a team for Media Day and got to see their logo in the end zone and the Super Bowl logo on the field.

"It's special," kicker Stephen Gostkowski said. "You want to take advantage of the opportunity and not look back and have any regrets."

The images started to seep in, too, as they looked around the stadium and envisioned a packed house for Sunday's main event.

"When we walked out onto this field and see all these cameras flashing, it's going to be an experience to remember, definitely," defensive tackle Kyle Love said.

"It just feels good," safety Patrick Chung said. "It feels good. As the week goes along, it's going to get more intense. Right now, I'm enjoying it. We're enjoying it. We're having fun. Everything is good."
